[ Denys had been expecting some form of contact - so when his own poor, forgotten communicator pings him, he's quick on the response. ]
It's good to hear you're alright. It was no problem. I'll see you there.
[ He himself had settled into the season with intent to relax some, so he was in no particular hurry to make the time, but he set out about 30 minutes ahead of schedule. He had little to do at the moment, so he might as well.
He appreciated the calm, quiet streets - it was chilly enough to keep most in their homes for the start of the day, though if Denys minds, he doesn't comment.
When he arrives, Minato might find it particularly hilarious to see him wearing a grey, slightly tacky holiday-themed sweater along with a pair of earmuffs strategically covering his lion ears with their headband.
He took a moment to notice Minato's position - though he moved over as casually as he could manage, given his royal bearing, before settling in beside him without announcing himself. ]
[ If Minato had noticed the approach behind him, he doesn't show it, eyes focused on the piece of paper in his hands until Denys stands in his periphery and sits down next to him. The clothes definitely aren't what Minato expected Denys' casual wear to be, but they seem warm and comfortable nonetheless, like holiday designs tend to lend, and he wishes the cheer would spread some his way. The floor of the chapel is hard and cold, and he feels very much the same. ]
I was, [ he admits, flattening the tag over his knee before hanging it back up beneath the statue, slightly handled but still blank ] but I can't quite find the right words...
[ Peace on earth. Friendship between all. Things that nobody could grant him, not on that large a scale, and not with any permanence. But those are things Minato knows better than to pray for; those are things he has to work towards, step by step, inch by inch. ]
I made one early this morning though. Since you're here, can I assume it'll get granted?
[ It's ironic - those kinds of desires were the sort Denys, so long ago, was happy to grant. Perhaps not in the way Minato meant - but that was why he'd been wrong, no? ]
Of course, wishes are rarely easy. And if done wrong, they can come out rather foolish.
[ Still, Denys smiles, placing the communicator - held before in his fist, out of view - right next to him, between him and Minato. ]
But perhaps. I have a poor record for granting wishes, but maybe yours can be among the first I do right. What was it?
[ He's not sure if it was about the communicator or not, but he figures it's not an issue even if it were. Minato has proven he's not terrible at subterfuge, and Denys - though he likes the chapel seems mostly empty - would like to avoid mentioning bringing him back his communicator outright. ]
[ Minato smiles softly, a bit sadly. Wishes are just that: difficult to articulate, even more so to attain, and not all should be granted, no matter how strong the desire. He doesn't particularly like wishing for things either, but when he glances down at the floor and what Denys had set down between them, he thinks he might just be asking the wrong people. He doesn't have enough power by himself, and gods are fickle at best, but there has never been a moment where he couldn't rely on his friends.
He leans back, resting his weight on his hands— one flat on the ground and the other finding the communicator and covering it with his palm. ]
"For it to be easier to talk to others."
[ A subtle tap of a finger at the edge of the communicator in indication that it is indeed what he's asking for, but Minato will go one step further: ]
To say it plainly, I think we would benefit from a meeting place. There are a lot of vacant buildings in town, and we could make use of someplace central, with enough space. Holly is the right size, but you live too far away, and it's a pain to walk all the way there.
[ Like, literally. Which is why he wanted to meet in the chapel, aside from the fact that the place is rarely occupied, as if the entire building acts as their confessional. ]

Planning on making a wish, my friend?
